Was wondering if anyone knew the difference between the following expansion modules :

IP400 phone 30 V1 and V2?

IP400 DS 30 V1 and V2?

Cheers,

Chris

Both V1 modules you can upgrade to 3.2 61 (5.2 61) and won't work on a V2 IPO (they maybe work but you'll get toubles)

The V2 modules you can upgrade to 4.1.9 (6.1.9) at this very moment.

The way the cables connected to the V1 modules was different and we have replaced a lot of DS 30 V1 mods because the ports were so flakey. you walk by and the phones would go dead.

I have mixed V1 and V2 with a 406V2 with no issues on 4.0.14. The only difference that I see in the devices is where the LEDs are placed. I haven't had any issues with either device.

I believe with the Alog Phone modules V1's have Capacitors inside and V2's don't.

Bas: I have used V1's and V2's upto 4.1 with no problems. Not seen anywhere that they shouldn't work.

What do you mean "Won't work on a V2 IPO"???

Cheers for the advice all.

Got an IP400 Phone working with an IP406 V2 running 4.0(14) OK

Was wondering if this was a supported configuration by Avaya and if any of you guys had any stability/reliability issues running this combination of hardware/firmware.

I think bas1234 is mistaken

Only the alchemy do not work from 4.0 and higher

There are no compatability issues with the v1 IP400 modules and any current version of IP Office hardware nor software. You may freely mix and match these units as needed. You will notice that there is no mention of the hardware version (e.g. v1 vs v2) in any compatability documents released to date. I have an IP500 running EI Q1 4.1 with 2ea v1 Phone modules, 3ea v1 Digital Station modules and 1ea v2 Digital Station module without issue. In addition I have several IP406v2 and IP412 all running 4.1 with a mixture of v1 and v2 modules.
