Customer has had this on a phone for a couple of days. The odd thing is, I make changes on another phone and "update" goes away after a little while. The phone version is 19D.

There should be a softkey that says "DN" press that to see which station is not updating. It may be a problem with that station.
The system will not update till the dn in question is available and not in use.

Try disabling the port and then reenabling it.

I had a similar simuation a few weeks ago... it turns out that the DN in question was in a conference room, and someone had (accidently) entered the feature code to page, but didn't enter the zone. So, the phone was sitting at the "Enter Zone" prompt.

Do as Silver987 suggested -- use the DN softkey, and then walk over to the phone to make sure that it isn't waiting for a response.

As I stated, I can make a change in the system on a phone and press the "update" button and clear it, but there is another phone that has the word "update" on it and disabling it and re-enabling it doesnt do anything.

It doesn't matter... the nature of the change made to the programming is what determines if the individual DNs get updated.

Did you try disabling and reenabling the port?

Yes, I did disable & renable it. I guess phone system reset is the next thing to try/

Sometimes the paper labels in the line button makes
the button sticky and doesn't release, so
the phone will always be in a busy state from the time it was last pressed. If you press the "update" key, it will show which phone has been changed but not updated because the sticky button did not release.

I did have this problem some time ago and I found a phone that hadn't been used for a long time that was the problem.
