I'm trying to find out how to access and or delete LWC messages. The manual defines it, but I can't find out how to delete one. Any thoughts??

I use "clear AMW (all messages waiting) all" to clear that.

The LWC option seems strange to me, I've looked aroung to try to find a way to turn it off on the system but haven't found anything.

Maybe in the features he has to administer & use one of these below?

Don,

I tried that and the clear command isn't valid in the Audix terminal. Do you have to do it from the switch terminal instead?

Mike

Yes, it has to be done from the switch. It's useful for other voice mail systems so they can turn the lights on and off.

Speaking of which, I have an issue with a V4 system. The clear command isn't valid on that version. Is there another way to find out which station is responsible for turning it on? I don't want to have the site admin go around the building dialing the cancel code on every phone. Thanks.

Are you talking about the Message Waiting Indicator (MWI) or are you looking to clear Leave Word Calling messages? They are two different things. If the Message Waiting light is lit but there are no messages you should status the station to find the source of the light. If it is from the AUDIX it will show that. You can do a 'clear mwi all [ext]'. If 'status station' shows 'spe' someone has sent a LWC message to that station. You can assign your station to the Global Retreival list on page 2 of the system features form. Assign yourself the correct COR/COS and the required buttons on your phone and you should be able to clear the LWC messages.

Hmm, I must be missing something. I put a station in the field for system-wide retrieval. I've also given it console permissions. But whenever I try dialing the FAC to cancel, I get a busy signal after dialing the extension with the 'spe' status.

My situation is somebody accidentally dialed the FAC to turn the light on, then dialed the admin's extension. This turned on the light. So I now need to find out how to clear it or find out which user accidentally turned it on (so it can be turned off from their phone).

I would remove the FACs altogether, but it's used by our non-Audix voice mail system to turn the lights on and off for voice messages.

I'm looking to clear a Leave Word Calling message. Do you mean page 2 of the station under Change Station XXX?

Addendum to my post at 19:32: The question about leave word calling was directed to 4merAvaya, but I'd welcome anyone's input.

If you have a Definity that's newer then V4, you can just type "clear amw all ####" where #### is the extension in the command prompt (this is the PBX, not Audix). The PBX will then clear everything out for that station's light.

The post from 4merAvaya is explaining if you do a "status station ####" it will tell you which part of the system is turning on the light (Audix or LWC). Unfortunately for me, I need more details regarding the LWC portion since the command I mentioned above doesn't work on a V4 Definity.

To retrieve messages:(from a phone with permissions mentioned above)
1. Press the COVER MSG RT button.(and the extension)
Messages display on the display.
2. Read messages, if any, to the system user.
3. Press one of the following buttons for more options:
n NEXT — Displays the next stored message or displays END OF
MESSAGES
n DELETE MSG (Delete Message) — Deletes the displayed message
