Just a quick post regarding my frustration with Linksys and the RV082...
I had the RV082 installed in (4) offices with a fully meshed site-to-site VPN. I've been struggling with tunnel disconnects since day one. After four weeks of:
- Linksys support, (which leaves a lot to be desired)
- (1) replacement unit
- Firmware upgrades/downgrades from 11.07 - 11.12
- Disabling about every friggin security option imaginable
- Digging into OpenRG and changing settings at the command prompt
I was only able to get the units to keep a good connection for about 60% of the time.
I've since dropped the RV082 at my main site and replaced it with a ZyXEL ZyWALL 10 II. Not only have my connections been 100% (at least with the ZyWAL and RV082's, I'm still having disconnect issues with RV082's connected to other RV082's) over the last week, but I was able to take the RV082's still in place back to default settings.
I plan on phasing out the other RV082's as the year progresses and replacing them with other ZyWALL's.
Not meaning to turn this into a commercial for ZxXEL, but I don't want someoen else making the same mistake I did with the RV082's.
