Zoom modem Locks up mouse

WHEN my modem connects to the internet my usb mouse locks up!
It is a compaq micro wirless optical mouse cat # 26-757 the driver is Omni mouse driver 4.1

What about the modem? Is it USB also? What model?

Sorry this might help.
My mouse locks up (Compaq Mini Optical Mouse Catalog # 260-0757.
This happens only when I use my External USB Zomm Modem USB V.92 Model 3090 Serial # 3182-3090-00-00-0209
The box type is a Ipaq legacy free pc p500/810e.
All the perfrifals are connected Via USB Conections

OK, first things first, because there is a lot of info out there on this modem claiming conflicts with one device or another.

Did you download the latest modem driver from Zoom?

Also, which OS are you running?

And do you have a Via chipset on your motherboard? There is apparently an issue with the Via chipset that requires a new driver from Via.

Yes I had down loaded the drivers from zoom at the begging of this tread.
THe OS is Win2K pro.
The chipset I'm not sure of.
The box is my travle box and I broke it down at this time So it may be a little delayed on being able to try diffrent trouble shooting applcations.
So bear with me pansophic. And I do appraiate you resopnce and help.
