Often when working on a photo restoration, I frequently switch from a zoom in of 300 to 500% mode to zoom out to fit-on-screen mode to check my results. (over and over)!

I use "Ctrl +" to zoom in then later I select the zoom tool, right click and select fit-on-screen, etc.

There has to be a quicker way to switch back-and-forth between "zoomed way in" to "fit on screen" or "actual pixels" mode.

Ctrl+Space will give you the magnafiying glass, which you can draw a marquee around the area you want to zoom in on.

Ctrl+0 will zoom out to fit to screen.

But these shortcuts are listed in you "View" menu anyway...so I guess you already know that....

You could try writing an action for it and assign it to a function key. Your problem is going to be that it most likely will not zoom in to where you are working.

Wow JT that almost looked like you knew what you were doing!

Thanks for trying guys...I was hoping for a miracle but your suggestions helped.

[Shift] + increase in 100% increments
[Shift] - decrease in 100% increments
[Ctrl] 0 Fit on screen (I didn't know this one)
[Ctrl Alt] 0 Fit to 100% (I found this one)

the 0 is a zero

Am I crazy, or was there a way of setting zoom increments in previous versions of photoshop? I seem to remember being able to set the zoom increments in the preferences window - is there a way to do that in photoshop cs (8.0) ?
