exsmogger is correct. The Nortel page port cannot send DTMF. The only way to get multiple external page zones is to send DTMF to a 3rd party Zone page device. So make sure you have an available loop start trunk port.
Sorry about not reading this until now but on the new SW, 6.1 for sure, the page port does send out DTMF so that you can put a Valcom or Bogan zone paging on it. Hit F62 and you will hear tone from zone pager, then dial zone and talk.
also you can use a digital phone such as a 7100 and grab the paging off the speaker (yes this is an internal connection the middle connection on the back does not work) or a 7208 and grab the middle connection off of the back and run that through a zone amp. this method of connection is a bit more costly but it beats having to dial something like feature 631,1 to page both internal and external zone one, the second one that activates the zone controller is heard out of the internal zone phones.

We have a Valcom 2003A 3 zone paging system that is currently connected to our Nortel phone system.
While we can can get the paging system to work just fine using Feature 62 and zone 1, 2, 3 or 4 (for all), we are not able to have the same message come out over the telephone set speakers at the same time. We have tried feature 63xx and it still only comes out over the telephone sets.
I read something in Jerry Reeves post about using a 7208 phone and the middle "connection".
Is that the headset port or the speaker output from the phone itself? I don't happen to see anything else besides the line port and the headset port on the underside of the phone.
Do you connect this pair to the 2003A and which connection?
Is it possible to have the page go to all three zones along with all the phones at one time?
What do you then dial?
If you do this how would you keep the page from going to just the telephone sets?
Can you have it go to all three zones?
I really appreciate any clarification that any of you could share. THANKS

I set up one customer with a valcom 3 zone pager connected to the page port of the phone system. then I set up 3 zones for telephone sets that corresponded to the zones that the valcom zones. What the customer did to use it was they dialed feature 631 pause 1 for zone one and one, or Feature 632 pause 2 for zone two and two. etc. with feature 630 pause 0 for all zone page. the pause was needed to give the ICS page a chance to make connection then the last digit was for the valcom to know what zone was needed.
If you have the extra 7208 sets you can hook up the headset jack of each phone to the zone amp for each zone. you wouldn't need the 3 zone pager then you would want to remove the handset cord from those phones though since the handset mike is picked up by the headset jack.
Since you already have the paging system working on feature 62 then zone you should not have to do anything else other than give it a second when you dial feature 631 then dial 1 again.
Side note: you really should have opened up a new thread for this question.
