Zone Paging System

Our 3300 mxe has been configured to page through an external paging system.

dialing 70 will dial an access code, when we hear a tone we type in a paging zone id... (01) for first floor. At this time we can get the notification tone over the paging speakers on the correct floor. Now the pager has to wait an additional 8 seconds before we can hear his voice over the speakers.

This is not a prerecorded paging situation. If he starts talking after the overhead page tone happens, we cannot hear him over the speakers, once 8 seconds have passed then we can hear him real time.

My question is that has anyone has any experience in this situation and if so what steps could i do to determin that the 3300 is not the problem.

Thanks

The fact that the paging gear is accepting the page zone entry is highly indicative that the issue is with the paging gear.

Are you able to hear speech if you monitor the input tp paging during the 8 seconds?

What type of interface are you using, paging port, trunk, ons port, other?

what does 70 represent, ARS, DN of set, Feature access code, Other?

Well from what I am figuring out is this...

70 is a speedcall number for ##80200
##8 is Individual Trunk Access (Feature code assignment)

Right now I am trying to break down what 0200 is for Because 0 isn't a trunk number, nor is 02 (well I'm certain it isn't). And it isn't a feature access code in any combination.

i dont think it's an extension because you wouldnt need to access an individual trunk correct?

But pressing 70 and waiting a second or two does generate a tone. At that point we can press 01-04 depending which floor.

0200 will be trunk number 200. There has to be 4 digits in the feature code for trunk access. If the trunk was number 15, then 0015 would be used.

by using direct trunk select, virtually all possible issues with the 3300 have been eliminated.

I would still clip on the trunk and monitor the line during the time in question and verify the speech is leaving the 3300.

Also I would add a # to the end of the speedcall to speed up trunk access.
