Zone Alarm Pro - Loopback

Hi all,

This is sort of silly, but wanted to make sure this was a viable option.

On a Win 2K networked machine, Zone Alarm Pro will ask if Winlogon32 can access the "Internet", at address 127.0.0.1. This is, obviously, the loopback address for the machine, not necessarily the "Internet"!

My question is - is it "safe" to add the loopback address as part of the local security settings to not have it considered as part of the Internet, but part of the computer's local network? Is this something I can distribute to all my client computers?

Thanks in advance for the help and any lessons you may teach! J.R. Juiliano

I think adding the Loopback address does not open a security hole.

I sent a question to Zone Alarm about this and here's the basic gist of it all...

"If you have anything working as a proxy, then this is opening up your system, anything can go through that proxy."

Hope that helps someone out there.
