3300 4.1 sp3 SIP trunks reported in Software logs calls from Zombie phones. What the heck is that. System has been running with the SIP trunks for a few years without trouble.

NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED!

I'm pretty sure some software designer thought about UNDEAD TASKS but please; ZOMBIES?

NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED!

I was typing a command on an SX2000 and mistyped it and the SX2000 responded with "Greasy Black Smoke Eminates From Maintenance Terminal" Somthing like that.

On a similar tack, back in the good ol' ISDN gateway days.

I was monitoring a system for a Concert Ticket sales ACD queue and we had Mitel Engineers on site due to failures in high volume situations. The Gateway was receiving more calls than it could handle and suddenly on the screen we see:

Suicide in 45s....44s.....43s....

FU Garth Brooks.

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

Zombie phone log indicates the Mitel is receiving a stream from an endpoint that should no longer be sending, I have seen this previously when a call has been put on hold and tells the exchange to no longer send the voice stream as it is playing music, however the exchange ignores this request and keeps sending. It doesnt seem to cause any problems other than fill the logs up.
