Sometimes when I am using Zmodem to transfer files from an AIX or SCO host system to my PC I get Bad CRC errors. Does anyone know what causes those or how to eliminate them?

Thanks,

Mike

A bad CRC error occurs whenever the checksum (for lack of a better word) on a received data packet does not equal the value computed by the other system. It is usually caused if the connection is not completely clean (line noise, etc.) and the sending side will resend the bad packet. If it's only occasionally happening, then chances are it is something like this.
