Zip a file at command prompt

Is it possible to zip a file in Windows XP at the command prompt?
 
just type zip, it will show all the options available.

Ooops ignore the above it's a 3rd party utility.

WinZip also has a command line option.

Thanks. I've decided to go with the winzip. I tried the compact command listed above by NortonES2 but the compression did not stay with the file when transferred from one machine to another.
