Currently in a test environment I have Netware 6.5, ZFD 4.01
I am creating images for a range of Dell Optiplex PCs ranging from Gn to GX270 and the problem I have is this:

So far I have created an image from a GX150 and GX260.

I then create a Zen partition on the PCs to have the image put on them, I use the default size of 100 meg and then set the preferences, DHCP and set the addresss of the proxy server.

When I try to manually pull down the image I get,
'Program Terminated due to internal segmentation fault'

Any subsequent attempts to put the image again on the same pc result in,
'No eligible partition to receive image'

I have tried re-creating my Zen boot disks in case I had dodgy disks and tried the boot CD to create the Zen partition but I always get the same error.

I downloaded the latest server side files for ZFD4.01 from the Novell web site and re-reated my bootdisks but this made no difference.

I have previoulsy used ZFD 3.2 imaging and never had this problem before.

Have you had any developments with this issue? We have the same issue and have conatcted Novell for help but they have not made any progress either. We have noticed that it occurs only on the new Seagate drives shipped by Dell in the GX270's. Any info would be appreciated, If we gwt a fix we will let you know.

P.S

Have you contacted Dell/Novell directly?

I'm afraid I only sort of got around the problem.
I rebuilt the server that had ZFD4 on it and reinstalled ZFD4, made some new bootdisks and started again, moving any pcs that gave me grief into a pile.
Since I did this more pcs seem to behave than not.
I haven't put an image on a 270 yet, although a couple of 260s have given me problems.

I haven't contacted Dell or Novell as of yet.

Sorry this is not much help.

It may be work contacting Dell,
I know myself we had issues with ghost images going onto GX260's.
Most were fine but one in 20 wouldnt work. They gave out a list of debug commands to run in commandline on the Harddrive and this fixed the issue. Not sure if its the same issue or not...

We have found a solution. It appears there is a bug in the img code (confirmed by Novell as they are reporting this solution to engineering for a rebuild) If you use the command line for img and make sure to use "/" not "\" in the paths.

This solves our problem hope this helps.

P.S thanx to Emerson, a member of the Novell ZW forum for this solution, I am just passing it on :)

Thanks ndsman, I'll try that.
