Our environment: Novell Netware 6 servers, ZFD 3.2, Windows 2000 client machines.

We are at the beginning stages of developing how to distribute apps.

I have 6 apps that I would like to force run to the user's desktop when they log in the first time. I know about setting the run order, but the apps I want to distribute, MS office 2k, Office 2k sp2 patch, IE 6, GW6, Adobe Reader 5.05, and RealPlayer 8 all run in the right order, but because it did not reboot after running SP2 and as a result, the app does nothing when clicked on in the program menu.

It does work when each app is not force run, but an install icon on the desktop of the user.

I have reboot always set for the sp2 patch, but it does not reboot till after all the apps are done installing.

We want to have our "everybody gets it" apps all force run when the user logs into their new machine, and then have the apps that just certain users get run when the user that has the icon, needs to use it.

I was also thinking of the possibility of just having MS office and patch run last, so it reboots after that.

How can I accomplish this? Is it possible?

As a side note, I am just getting thrown into this... and what may be obvious to everybody else might not be for me...
I've just started working with ZFD 3.2 4 days ago.

Also, why does there seem to be no 3rd party books written about Novell products?

Thanks

Tony,

To distribute Office, are you doing it with an Snap-Shot or are you using an MST (transformation file) to distribute Office 2K?

Does you Office 2K media already have SP1?

This TID may help.

This seems to be the only third party book out there.

Why do user go into a panic when a NetWare server goes down, but accept it as normal when a Windows server goes down?

Sorry,

I forgot that info. I am using the MST for Office and it is already SR1. I am using snappshot for the sp2.

When I get to work tomorrow, I plan to force run just the office/sp2 packages and have the rest just install as needed to keep our project moving.(I'm taking over for someone who had the last 6 months to do all this, and was unable to meet the deadline, now our new pc's are rolling out in a few weeks(they think), and they asked me to save them).

Thanks very much for your reply.
