I have a Detail that only contains a thin subform (that can grow and shrink). The Detail is also set to grow and shrink.

But if there are no records for that subform, it still takes up room on the report. So I end up with big gaps where there are multiple no record subforms.

Can this be handled?

Thanks. Sean.

I always use subreport rather than subforms. Gaps will not be closed up if there are any controls to the left or right of the subreport control.

Ihave it as a subreport as well, and there are no other controls around the subreport.

Is there a mystery setting for this?

Thanks. Sean.

99% of the time we get questions like "how do I get my subreport to still display the headings when there are no records returned in the subreport".

If your bound subreports truly don't return records but are displayed then there is something wrong. I would try display the border of the subreport control to make sure it is taking up space.
