Hello
We are running zfd 3.2 sp1 on netware 6 sp2.
The sybase database seems to corrupt frequently.
Maybe every 3 months. No backup to restore
Does anyone know of this issue.
Also can anyone recommend a good backup strategy for the database. Currently using Veritas Backupexec ver 9.
But since the database is always open it doesnt get backed up.
Thanks

how about a cron job to shut it down at night for the backup and then fire it up again? (search support.novell for cron.nlm)

or

Just write a little ncf file to stop it and then one to start it and use the pre and post options in BUE to run them. Only problem is if the backup hangs - the databse won't get restarted until it gets some attention..

Have you got Open file option? If not you can purchase a license for it and it will snapshot the database and do its backup from there. Read more at Veritas's knowledge base.

Thanks for the replies
