Hi,
On random machines ZENworks 3.1 Application Explorer ocaisionally launches twice at startup. This can cause the whole pc to stall and require a reboot. It does not occur all the time, but enough to annoy people.
This only seems to happen on WinNT4.0 workstations not W2k machines.

Any help or ideas appreciated.

Hi,

The chances are that you are running nal.exe from your login script. This has an annoying feature of copying the local shortcut to c:\windows\system32 to the start up group. If you have anti-virus installed, sometimes it holds up the launching of nalwin32 thus the network copy is started because it doesn't work out that you are already launching it. Best option is to either delete from the start up group, or re-direct to a dummy location or the network point.

Hope that this helps.

Hey, thanx for the reply! That was exeactly what was causing it....any reason why it would only happen on NT4 boxes??

Should be consistent across NT4, W2K and XP, generally to do with rights...er...I mean permissions :)
