Hello all,
Please forgive me if this has been covered and my prior searching didn't turn it up.
I've noted a lot of folks building custom drivers, etc. for ZEN boot disks.
Has anyone found or back-ported the ZFD patch to the Linux kernel to something more modern? The current 2.4 branch kernel is 2.4.25, released 2/18/2004, and has several fixes since the last version that Novell seems to have a patch for.
I've looked at the patch, and it looks like there are only a few *important* changes, the most important being a change to the way in which disk geometry is done.
Just curious if anyone's gotten this working. My intention is to port it to the most recent kernel, build up an ISO with every possible network driver, fix the DMA mode to start automagically, and put it up for download to save hassle for a lot of people (including my customers.)
Thanks,
Mark Lachniet
