We have three different printers for our barcode labels. A Sato, an Astro Med Top Hand and a Zebra 170xiii.
We have been printing our small card codes on the Sato but recently tried to switch them to the Zebra. When I made the switch last week I was able to print a bunch of labels without a problem once I realized I need to move the upper sensor. We tried running the same codes today, no changes to the printer but we can't get the printer to stop coming up with "Paper out error".
I tried moving the sensor a little bit and that didn't work it will print a few then come up with the error.
We are using non-continuous media with a notch.
I will admit that this machine is not very well taken care of, this is not my usual job, otherwise it would be well taken care of, but since i pick up technical stuff easily they come to me for help. Is it possible that the sensors just need to be cleaned? Or do we need to call for service?
