ZA hanging XP Logoff

I have downloaded the newest free ZA 3.1.395 and I am having a problem logging off - this happens on all users.
Problem: When I try to logoff, I click on start,shutdown, logoff and the following happens in this exact order:
1- the task bar disappears
2- desktop icons disappear
3- desktop wallpaper hangs there for 1.5 minutes
4- logging off message, quick
5- Saving your settings message, quick
6- shutting down message, quick.

The problem is logging off, not shutdown because once all users are logged off and the welcome screeen is showing, shutdown is instant.

My diagnosis:

I turned off ZA in msconfig and the problem goes away totally.

I am running XP Home on a Sony VAIO desktop with AVG 6.0 antivirus.

Any suggestions?

I had this with the older version of ZoneLabs, try removing ZoneAlarm from your machine, ensure no folders exist called ZoneAlarm and then reinstall it by downloading it again from the web site. Mine stopped hanging after I did this!
