I have built a transformation table with YYYYMM_ID and YTM_ID in a way

YYYYMM_ID YTM_ID
200401 200401
200402 200401
200402 200402
200403 200401
200403 200402
200403 200403
200404 200401
..
200404 200404

Report has Current Month column and a metric using YTM transformation object. Current month is also a report prompt. Running report and selecting months in a prompt Jan, Feb, March, April 2004, the transformation metric works OK, as data for all months from 2004 is in the report. It sums up numbers from beginning of 2004 to each of the months.
When I select March and April 2004 in the prompt only, transformation metric only sums up data for the first month selected in the report, which is March 2004, rather then January 2004.
When I select April 2004, the metric only sums up data for April 2004 only and not Jan - April 2004.

Any idea what I may be doing wrong ?

How have you defined your transformation? It should be a Many-to-many. The way the transformation should work is that you pick April 2004 and it should return Jan-April from what you are saying. When you are running the report and selecting Jan,Feb,March and April you should actually get the wrong answer since you would be counting some of the months multiple time. Are you sure you don't have the columns mapped backwards? From what you have defined in your table it looks like you have it defined correctly.
