Hi,

I am using Citrix XPe on Windows 2000 with SP3. The clients are all XP. Recently we are getting the following message when the clients connect using progam neighbourhood.

"Your Terminal Services temporary client license will expire in 8 days. Pls contact your system administrator to get a permanent license"

I thought the configured TS license built-in on windows 2000 was permanent, Pls can anyone help

Thanks in advance

Yes but you need an activated terminal services license server, and the clients need to see it. WHteher you need licenses or not. In 2000 AD it has to be on a DC too.

Hi all,

I have this issue with one of my users. When he logs in, he gets that famous message:

"Citrix temporary client license will expire in 12 days.
Contact your system administrator"

Now this is only happening with this one user... What should i do?

One other thing to bear in mind, all XPs and 2000 professional pc with ICa clients need not have a license to access the 2000 Terminal Servicer License server, however you will need licenses for XPs pc with ICA clients to access the 2003 Terminal Server License Server to provide license for Citrix MF installed on 2003 Server. professional 2000 doesn't need a licence to connect to the 2003 server on which Citrix MF is installed. Equivalent serial I think is the term giving to it by Microsoft. I hope this helps...

Citrix User

The user that is having the temporary license issue is on a Windows XP pro box, so logically he shouldn't be getting this error... so why is he?

This is strange for an XPpro to be having this issue accessing the 2000 Terminal Server License/8 days. Have you pointed or Active directory querried the 2000 Terminal Server License server from the Citrix MF installed on 2000 server.

It does say Citrix Temporary license ? Yes

Try re-installing the client.

One last thing I'm thinking about although not sure, you'll have to say whether this is true or not. Are you by any chance a Citrix MF installed on Server 2003 running a grace day period soon to expire in 8/12 day. ? if not, that's there isn't 2003 server install Citrix MF, then for now it's what ignoring this error signs and see what happens after the 8 or 12 days expiration warning though this is like waiting to be smashed in the face before you dive or duck..Good luck

I'll try getting the user to reinstall the client completely, as this is an isolated case, so most probably is an error on the client side. I will do this asap and keep you posted on results.

Thanks,
