Your System Has No Paging File

I am getting this error:

Error Message: Your System Has No Paging File, or the Paging File Is Too Small

whenever i boot up.

a fellow tek tip member gave me this link: to try which i did try before with no luck. I am afraid something got very corrupt, but I am willing to try anything before using the recovery CD.
 
This error message can be due to:

. NTFS folder permission issues. The link you cite above is an example of this concern. See also:
. Flat out wrong settings. Set your page file settings to allow Windows to manage them

. Pagefile.sys corruption. Set MIN and MAX to 0. Save the settings, and ignore all the yelling XP will do. Then set to let Windows manage the pagefile.
