I am in dire need of some assistance!!! For two weeks, I have been trying to download IE7 and other programs, especially from Microsoft...And every single attempt has been foiled by the Security Alert: Your current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded...All my security settings are set to default and the Internet setting is medium...What do I do?

P.S. I'm running XP SP2

Are you using the Windows firewall or a third party firewall?
Have you considered Mozilla Firefox as a browser?

I believe I'm using Windows' firewall. I have tried downloading Mozilla Firefox, but it wouldn't download.

Do you have admin rights to the machine? Without the admin rights windows will not let you download files. Also you may have to add the site to the trusted sites in IE.
