I'm having some problems with Your Assistant Full.

I installed the server software and added users to it.
I have programmed the Mitel ICP with 3 new YA phones.

When my boss first used the softphone it worked imediatly
When i try to connect it says im offline first, but after some time (1 minute or so) it says im online.
The third softphone from my collegue never comes online???

The second problem i encounter is that when a external call comes in on extension 201 and i say i will answer it on my softphone it will activate the speaker on the IP phone with extension 201. The person who's calling will hear nobody (verry annoying)

I hope u Guys /Girls can help me out with this.

Tnx

imho the latest ya is full of funnies. can't really help you with the first bit but maybe try different extension numbers for your softphone and deskphone. remember when in softphone mode all calls to the deskphone are forwarded to the softphone automatically anyway.

Not sure about the 1st, but I had the same trouble as your 2nd. I found it was due to multicall programming. You probably have a multicall key of the softphone on the deskphone, or vice-versa, I forget now. Multicall is not supported in 3.1, but may be changed in 3.2, will have to wait and see.

Miteltech,

Multicall not being supported, is this something from Mitel themselves? I recall reading in Mitel documentation on how to actually set this up. If it's not supported why would they explain to us how to do it? go figure

I'd have to check the docs, but I'm *quite* sure it's not supported. Have heard rumors for 3.2 though. Maybe I had it in a suite, I can't recall. I do know I had the exact same problem as DKGAUTO, and it was due to programming which the docs say not to do. I'll try and duplicate it if I get the time.

Your Assistant Multiline Support Publish Date

Body/Solutions
Your Assistant (YA) supports the following features in deskphone and softphone mode:
YA will support a second appearance of your prime line. For example, if your deskphone extension is 1001, then YA will support another appearance of extension 1001. This second appearance must be programmed on the same set as the prime line with:
Line type = Multicall
Ring type = Ring
YA will support an appearance of a phantom extension. This must be an extension that is not associated with a PLID, and does not appear anywhere else on the 3300 ICP or SX-200 ICP. For example, your prime line could be 1001, and your second line could be 2001. DN 2001 must not be programmed on any other phones in the 3300 ICP or SX-200 ICP.
In addition, Your Assistant does not support keylines or DSS/BLF keys in either Deskphone Mode or Softphone Mode.

So, in reading above, my guess would be that he has a multicall appearance of 201 on his YA Pro, and this is causing his unexpected behaviour.
In short, the YA Pro client can have a multicall of *itself*, or it can have a multicall DN of a number that *does not* have a physical PLID associated to it. I have "0" on my YA Pro, which is just a multicall key on several phones, and that works fine.

Whoops, check that. 0 is no longer on my YA Pro, betcha that was my problem!

There, just duplicated it. Added 2004 (which is a 5140 set) to my YA Pro client as a multicall. Call 2004, answer on YA and audio is heard over speaker of 2004. Remove the appearance and the problem will go away (may also need to restart the client if it is running while you make the change).

yes think you're right in saying you can have a multicall of it's own line appearance and a multicall that does not have a physical plid connected to it.

To take it one step further. Basically, any DN being used ona YA can only appear on the YA. It cannot be another appearance anywhere else. I've removed 0 from mine, as I remember t, because it would randomly pick any of the extensions with 0 on it and broadcast my audio over that set. Not a good idea. I'm told this is being reworked in 3.2, will have to wait and see. The whole problem is with the way MiTai works, it is monitoring the DN and only the DN. So when the DN rings, MiTai tells the YA client to make an audio path, and whatever gets screwed up after that screws up, and your audio ends up on the speaker of another set.
ACD for YA is coming in 3.2, I hope it works. That could be very useful.

hello

check to see that the third pc is not running .net framework 2 or higher it needs to be 1.1

thanks

Wow, i've been away for a few days, tnx for all the comments and sugestions.

The 201 extension is a deskphone for general use, all softphones are softphone only there are no deskphones configured to it.

When we receive a external call on 201, all people in the company must be able to answer it by a deskphone or a softphone.

I do have a multicall 201 configured (as described in the installation manual) on the mitel ICP to all softphones, i think it's the only way to monitor external calls (correct me if im wrong).

The second problem i had with no connection of the mitel softphone is solved. (configuration problem on his laptop).

Tnx

You will not be able to answer 201 on the softphone (at least not as a key appearance), you will get the results that you are experiencing (audio from the softphone over the speaker of the deskphone). If the users are in ear shot of the deskphone you *may* be able to use a pickup group or call pickup.
