<mailserver.company.com #5.7.1 smtp;550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for email@company.com

I received this message from an account that I could email in the past. Not exactly sure what has changed? I went through and read all of the posts, but did not find an answer to my problem. I did do the "smtpdiag" utility and it told me that my mxrecords are not correct, but I think that is because I have my mxrecords hosted outside my network.

can anyone tell me what may be the cause of this? how can I get my mxrecord information to work, even though I have the mxrecord information at a host site?

any help with this would be great.

thanks.

when that happened to me was because the recipients spam filter rejected our email.
