We are running Exchange Server 2003. One of our users has suddenly started to the get the following message returned as "Undeliverable" when sending e-mails (both internally and externally)

"You do not have permission to send to this recipient. For assistance, contact your system administrator.
MSEXCH:MSExchangeIS:/DC=local/DC=myersgroup:MGRMAIL"

All other users including myself are able to send e-mails without any difficulty. I'm not aware of anything changing on our system either.

Any ideas? I have not being able to spot anyone with the exact same issue on this forum.

Is the user's mailbox over the size limit? Do you have the rule restricting a user from sending emails when their mailbox is over a certain size limit?

I don't believe we have a rule set up as you describe. The user can however send e-mails via the web based session of outlook and also via his Windows Mobile 6 smart phone.

Sounds like everything with Exchange is working then, probably something screwy with the desktop client.

Can you create a new Outlook profile and configure it for the same user and see if that resolves the issue?

Recreate the user profile and you may fix the problem.

I have tried logging onto another PC with our "problem users" credentials and configured outlook to work with their mailbox. They are now able to send e-mails OK. I guess you are therefore correct in suggesting that there is problem with the user Outlook profile.

I will now recreate the users profile on their own PC which I'm confident will resolve this issue. I will report back if this does not work.
