Hi

I have a database that works fine on the development machine, however when I transfer it to the users machine I get the following.

You can't assign a value to this object

I am assigning a value to a field on a form in the onload event. I have the reference to DAO3.6 inplace.

Any ideas?

Regards

Is the database on a server?

Does the developement machine have a DSN to that server that the other machine does not?

Does the client PC application have the proper library references?

Hi

The database is not on a server, it is on an Xp Sp2 machine.
If i install the DB on the user machine with the records from the development machine inplace it works ok, if I delete all the records, to start afresh, i get this error. I am able to work around this, but would like to know what causes it.

Regards

Alan Edwards

Post the code where this happens, and tell us which line number the error occurs on.
