Our users recently upgraded MS Access, I am not positive from what version but believe it was 2003, and the new version is 2010.

They are encountinging following error:


You can only save, select crosstab, and union queriest in this format

Anyone seen thise before or know what the problem is?

Thanks for taking the time to post. Unfortuately I tried that site. It basically said the jet engine repair is no longer the recommended way to fix databases, but do not say how. It appears to been posted by a company seeking to assist for a $ amount, and does not say what the preferred method is.



"...error number 7798. The enhanced compact process has assumes all the functionality of the recovery process, and therefore it is no longer recommended to use the Jet database engine repair process."

To provide an update.

The data I found online was pointing to a corrupt database and most stated the MS Access repair process was not the best way to solve the problem.

The user executed the repair and it did not work, and most of the websites were pay-for-fix send me your db for a price sites.

A long story short, the user tried it the next day and it worked so maybe the repair worked, but the user needed to log-out or reboot afterwards.

Regardless - problem solved.
