Not only can I not get Groupshield to install but I stupidly uninstalled Netshield and it won't reinstall. Again I've followed the instructions for the problem given on the NA website but it's not working :-(

Check the registry for orphaned keys during the uninstall. The list to look out for should be found in NAI's Knowledgebase. Look for "manual uninstallation NetShield"

I have done as it describes but to no avail :-( I think that the problem lies with the install account.

When I put in our Domain admin account and password it comes straight back and say "The account for netshield does not have sufficient rights" If I put in another domain within the WAN and their administrator/service account and password it trys to verify it (before firing back and saying that it too doesn't have sufficient rights) and give the option to bypass the verification. If you select the bypass option it then says it's going to start installing (but subsequently comes back and says that it was interupted and hasn't)

I'm going bald pulling my hair out !

Any advice apreciated.

check the credentials under the mcshield service.

you can log the install if you need, putting voicewarmup in the reg, you can find the doc on nai site by searching on voicewarmup.

Delete all temp files, start run %temp% ok delete all

check winnt\installer and right click and check the summary for all files, if they are network associates delete them

put the install files into %temp% and run the msi file to install.

I also assume you deleted the legacy keys from the reg, this is in the doc you had tried.

the install uses microsoft installer, sometime you have to repair, or upgrade this from microsoft.

if you do what I suggested it is not my fault...

Thank you Gl unfortunatley the log doesn't help me. It basically reads as though it does the install then stops....A few errors which it seems to disregard and carry on and nothing that I as a mortal can point to and say "ah that's where it is "

Thanks for getting me this far though
