Sure I'm getting boring here but I really appreciate the help. Got the SUS Server up and running beautifully and everything has been reasonably straightforward and lovely. Tested some client machines using a local group policy and they are connecting to the server wonderfully.

Here's the problem. Now I want to add the Windows Updates to the clients via Group Policies in Active Directory. It's almost identical to the way you use the local group policies. I know how to do it, and I have read the Microsoft White Papers a million times. I don't believe that I am doing anything wrong as regards SUS but I would be lying if I didn't tell you that my GPO and Active Directory knowledge isn't as sharp as perhaps it should be. The problem physically being that the users inside my OU's whom I have applied said policy to are not getting the updates at all. It is passing by the schedule and ignoring it.

Any ideas, most appreciated?

Cheers

I applied my policy to the computer objects and not the user objects.

Make sure every Win2k W/S is running SP3 or SP4 and every XP machine is running SP1. Otherwise on the Win2k machines running SP2 or earlier you either need to update to at least SP3 or install the latest Auto Update Client from the MS SUS site.

Yup, all running at least SP3. You can tell usually if the Update Server is running or not due to an annoying oversight that I whinged about the other day but has turned out to be handy for me :)

It tells you there are updates available and allows you to install them before the scheduled time. This isn't even popping up, proof that nothing is going to run on schedule. True to form my schedules have come and gone. I'm not doing anything different between the Local Group Policy and the AD Group Policy though. It just won't have it :)

Help!
