Hope you can help with a problem I've just started to experience with BE 8.6
I have three W2K servers, one backed up locally and two with remote agents. This has worked fine for the last 12 months or so.
Recently, one of the remote servers crashed without errors and had to be rebooted. All services started normally with no error events logged. However, since the reboot, all backups on this server have failed with the usual message
"Remote agent for Windows NT/2000 not present - performing standard backup"
The remote agent is installed and licensed correctly on the remote server, but I've noticed that each time I start a backup or check it's properties from the Monitor, the service dies with an event id 7031 in the server's system log:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Service Control Manager
Event Category: None
Event ID: 7031
Date: 06/09/2002
Time: 12:13:59
User: N/A
Computer: Server
Description:
The Backup Exec Remote Agent for Windows NT/2000 service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 0 milliseconds: No action.
I've tried the various registry tweaks from the Veritas web site but to no avail.
Any help appreciated....
