I'd forgotten just how good the use of English (together with the delivery of course) was.

I guess things haven't changed in the intervening years; just developed into 'soundbite' politics which somehow takes the fun out of it.

Did "Yes Minister" or "Yes Prime Minister" ever make it outside the UK?

The quotes are good, but when delivered by Nigel Hawthorne, then they become brilliant. And still as accurate!
