Year To Date Problem

I created a report that displays daily information that is summed up on a month to date ( over group ) and year to date ( over all ). The methodology worked well until the year changed and the year to date column still obviously sums up all of the records regfradless of the date. I need help can any one point me in a direction that will solve my problem!

Bob: Go to Sorting and Grouping Options for the Detail Area of Your report. For the Date Group Click on Year and see what happens.
