When I am on Yahoo Messenger I can not voice chat.When I am asked or try to voice chat myself my computer locks up and I can not do anything.I can turn on my web cam and that works fine.I did recently install new speakers with a base speaker,Do you think this has anything to do with my problem?I also have XP and a HP computer.Thank you

When you try to use voice chat does it say attempting to connect...... then...... Unable to connect.
If so are you running a firewall, a lot of firewalls won't allow the connection, to enable the use of voice if you have Norton Personnal Firewall right-click on its icon on the bottom right of the screen and click disable. this will fix the problem but may also leave you open to threats so I suggest only having open messenger and no other programs that use the internet, including things like kazaa. If it isn't Norton find the disable option and click it, this should also fix the problem.
