One of our pc techs tried to load the YA client on his vista machine and it wouldn't load. He got an error and it backed out of the install. Is any one running YA on a vista Machine?

Vista is not listed in the supported Client PC operating system software.

From Mitel Release Notes:
Client Requirements (Operating System)
Application Minimum Software Level or Service Pack Requirements
Operating System
Windows 2000 Server® SP3
Windows 2000 Pro SP3
Windows XP SP1a
Windows XP Tablet Edition SP1a

Not that it won't work, but it looks like it's not supposed to work.

From what I have been told support for Vista is in YA 4.1 due out before the end of the year.

Works fine on Vista Business although you have to run install file as administrator but this is normal on vista

Release notes notwithstanding, YA 3.x (incl the Lite/free ed.) seems to work fine with XP Pro SP2. I don't even know anyone in a corporate setting with Vista. A few propeller heads playing with it at home on non-critical machines maybe.

I like to think we're normally cutting edge on some things but we've been told it will be at least a year before the first Vista rollouts and only then to a 'control group' of between 50~100 users. Tho we're one of the Fortune 500, our IT team in Desktop Systems has told Sr. Mgmt folks that
presently there's no business reason for anyone to move to Vista. XP is not going away anytime soon. In case folks hadn't noticed, MS is still sending out security update patches for Win_2K, more than a year past when they said support was ending.
