Xwindows Connection Problem

I am trying to connect to a Solaris 8 box using Xwin32 with XDMPC.

All I get is a black screen with an eggtimer and this shuts down after a few seconds.

I can establish sessions with other unix boxes using this method.

Any ideas welcome.

Check all the network settings on the system that you can't connect to -- compare those settings with the systems you can connect to. The kind of problem you are describing is usually caused by something wrong with the network settings.

Add your X server(the Windows machine here) host address into Solairs /etc/hosts and try again.

Thanks for your replies but I've discovered that the problem lies with Xwin32. I downloaded another Xterminal product and it worked straight away.
