Hi all unix fundi's.
Perhaps you can help me with this one...
I am using Symantec VPN software on a laptop to give a user remote access to our LAN. When the user connects to the LAN via the VPN, he has full access to ping any system. Our network is mostly Micro$oft, but we have one Unix server.
The user needs to be able to access the unix server via the VPN using XVision software. This works fine locally...but I cannot get the laptop to ping the IP address of the Unix server, using the VPN. (Which is on the same IP range as the rest of the LAN.)
Is there perhaps a protocol that is needed or a port opened on the firewall.
thanx,
Julian
