Hello,
I have a customer with a 5 cabinet XTS, version 2.2. They is one card in the main cabinet that has no dial tone on any of the ports. I tried resetting the card through the maintenance utility and by reseating the card physically. I have also replaced the card with a known good working card, no help from any of this. In the maintenance utillity it shows the card on line and all ports idle.
My question is:
(1) has anyone ever had a card slot go bad in a Vodavi XTS cabinet
(2) there is an empty card slot next to the one that isn't woring, can I just move the card to that slot or will that cause everything to be renumbered?

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you!

To your question:
(1) Yes, once. It was the backplane, so I used the next free slot.
The tone sender is placed on the MPB, so if another SLIB board gives dial tones, then it is OK.
(2) If you in PGM 101 and 103 removes the card from the SLOT where you previously inserted the board, hen you can insert a new board in the next empty slot. Power off the cabinet before you insert/remove any cards/boards.
After inserting the board reset the system.

So if I deprogram it from say cabinet 0 slot 3 and then program a SLIB card in cabinet 0 slot 4, all the fixed extensions will just moved to the newly programmed slot? And all the existing extensions beyond that slot will remain the same? I seem to remember running in to some trouble doing something like this once before and all of my existing extensions were renumbered. This is a 5 cabinet system and I would hate to screw it up!

Thanks again for the help

Well. I would insert the SLIB in the 5. cabinet, first empty slot. If possible.
The fault is seen in version 2.2. Today version 3.9 has fixed this issue.

What happens when you dial one of the analog extensions? Does it ring and work properly? If so, then check to see if the extensions are set for "Off-Hook Preference" to an unused CO port.

If you have to move the card, I'm with doktor, put it in the last available slot. Before you do anything, back up the programming in Flash 86.
