Hi

Running NT4 with SP6a. Using Eudora v3.06 to send and receive mail via Xtramail v1.2, which accesses Freeserve ISP via a Cisco router and BT digital line. About 95% of all messages come through without difficulty, but I am getting an increasing number which cannot be delivered. Xtramail says cannot deliver, " The following user address is unknown: --> @ "

Looking down the actual message it states the correct e-mail address in the " Envelope-to: " field, but then further down states " To: <Undisclosed-Recipient:;> ".

Messages have been coming through previously from these senders satisfactorily for months, and they tell me they have made no changes. Any clues anyone?

Are there rules you can set up in Xtramail so it looks at the X-envelope field before the To field, or so it checks the X-envelope if the To field doesn't validate?

It does seem however that the terminology "Undisclosed-Recipient" does seem to suggest a security setting. Maybe the To field is being stripped out someplace, email virus scanning perhaps? Do freeserve do virus scanning these days, it's a while since I used them.

Hi Paul

Thanks for your response. Cannot find any reference to X-envelope/To field parameter changes. Freeserve says it doesn't virus scan users mail, and I have automatic scanning disabled on incoming mail as XtraMail throws a wobbly otherwise! However, I do run any attachments thro' the scanner of course... It has been suggested that any info in the BCC field, could upset XtraMail - I am investigating further.

Regards
ROGER - GØAOZ.
