I have an xml file for "orders" provided by a customer. This file format is set-in-stone and will always arrive this way.

I have an ERP system that can accept an xml file for "orders" in a particular format. Obviously, these formats are not the same.

I have used Altova to create an XSLT to translate from one xml to the other xml in the past. However, Altova's pricey.

Are there any good, cheap alternatives? I'm no expert so I can't code it in, say, notepad. I need a tool to help me create good maps. But they are reasonably simple maps, usually 1:1 with little (if any) if-then type stuff happening. Surely there's a cheaper program out there that can help me build and maintain such a map?

TIA

XML Spy has a free Home Edition, rigth?

If not, maybe you can find one suitable for your needs here

Cheers,
Dian

XML Spy doesn't go for free anymore, sadly. $160 for the Standard ed and I think I might need the pro.

Alchemist seems to just connect to mysql and oracle, but I need xml to be both source and destination.

Seems like it should be so simple, and I must be overlooking something. I hate being newb at something. :)
