XSL and ImageMapping

Hey Guys:

I'm have an image map done in an XML file, which contains pretty much all the data for the project. However, I'm trying to employ a stylesheet on it, particularly the opacity feature in CSS. I know this is conducted through XSL, however, do I do impose this on the XML file? Am I missing something very obvious here?
