Greetings,
I recently installed Red Hat 9.0. It looks great, but I have a problem with it not keeping my monitor settings from one boot to the next and from one logout - login to the next. My monitor settings are done manual using the buttons on the monitor. Could this be a Xserver problem?
I did not have this problem with Red Hat 8.0, nor do I have this problem with Win98, or Debian (woody), or Morphix, which are all on other partitions on the same HD using the same hardware. I have had dozens of different Linux distros on this same computer and have never had this problem.
Here is the clincher: It doesn't always happen. Sometimes it boots right back to the settings I left it at -- about every third time.
I even reinstalled Red Hat 8.0 and again it worked fine no matter how many reboots or logout - logins I did. I, again, reinstalled 9.0 -- same problem.
I'd like to keep 9.0, but resetting my display everytime I log in or out is getting old.
Any help I can get to solve this problem will be appreciated.

Thanks Chris
