Hi,
I have LinuxES 4 installed on my vmware server on my local PC. I need to export display from other AIX(NEWIP) server to Linux(LINUX) server. I am getting error "Can't open display". Please check below steps and help me find out what is wrong or how to make it work.

[linuxServer]#xhost +newip
[linuxServer]#telnet newip
[newipServer]>export DISPLAY=192.168.253.166:0.0
[newipServer]>xterm
xterm Xt error: Can't open display: 192.168.253.166:0.0

Please help.

Thanks,

Try just doing "[tt]xhost +[/tt]". There can be problems identifying what exactly "newip" is. It would need to be in either [tt]/etc/hosts[/tt], or DNS, and sometimes even then it gets confused. Just doing the plus opens it up for everything, so it doesn't matter how it's specified.

Thanks for reply.
It turns out that the xserver block any tcp connection.
It is working now.
