I have a drawing with xrefs already attached. I do not want to reattach them!

My client wants a copy of these files on CD.

My Main File Path
G:/A/B/C/Main.dwg

My Xref File Path
P:/A/B/C/D/E/Xref.dwg

I will only deliver what is under the "C,D,E" paths.

How can I transfer these files to a CD and still have the "Main" Drawing recognize the "Xref" Drawing without reattaching them?

*Note--- The CD path will not be G:.

Thanks in advance.

What version are you using. In 2006, using Etransmit has made such a task a complete breeze. If you are using previous versions it becomes incresingly more difficult.

Assuming you have at least 2002, use eTransmit. Here are the steps
1)Go to file pull down> eTransmit
2)Write down path where zip is going to be saved
3) On the General tab, chnge tpye to zip, NOT exe.
4)select option to remove paths from xrefs and images
5)Click on Files tab and deselect anyhting you think they may not need, otherwise leave it
6)Select option to include fonts
7) Click Ok
8)Double check contents of zip, extract to folder and burn to CD

Hope that helps. I can tell you if you have a version previous to 2002, a littel more difficult, but not much.

Best Regards
