XPs Feature Release 2 licencing woes

Hi

I'm in the process of upgrading 2 NT4 / Metaframe 1.0 servers to W2K / Metaframe XPs.

The windows bit was easy, I bought new servers with W2K on. The Metaframe not so.

I bought the XPs Migration with Feature Release 2 plus a 5 user connection migration licence to match the existing 1.0 licences. I've installed & activated all the licences on the W2K / XPs server including the Metaframe 1.0 - it says to do this. (for info,the farm is being handled by SQL 2000)

Unfortunately, my server is still complaining that Metaframe XP 1.0 from Windows, Feature Release 2 is installed, but has no licences. In desperation I've tried assigning all the licences to the one server in the farm, but this makes no difference.

In CMC under the Farm/Licences/Summary tab, I can see:

Metaframe XP 1.0 for Windows, Server count 1, connection count 20.

Under that is:

Metaframe Feature Release 2 ,server count 1, connection count 0.

I'm still getting my brain around all these different licences, but does this mean I need to buy additional licences for Feature Release 2? Is FR2 mandatory? - I didn't see an option when I installed from Add Programs.

I'm considering a complete format of the disk and restart from scratch to see if I missed something.

If you have not signed up to manage your licenses online you should go to the following website to do so.

Here you can verify that you have activated all listed licenses. I had a similar problem and ended up calling the Citrix license support team. Support gave me a serial number for an old license that was not listed online. That fixed the problem.

I had activated online, but I had a more detailed look at the site. It seems I have to "fulfill my eligible products". Well I'm now "fulfilled" amongst other things and I've got another load of licence serial numbers to activate.
