Anyone know what Java is used for in Xpressions? I have a voice only application, and our IT security is having fits about old Java versions. Atos / Unify says they only support the originally installed Java version, which of course is diametrically opposed to what my Infosec team's views on Java are. Just wanted to know if the Java is only used for a converged application, and is it used for system admin?? I can't understand why Atos would not allow us to update the Java on Xpressions. But that's basically what they are saying..

Thanks!

It probably uses V6 on older versions. There are ways on the Java website via really small text links, to get to the older versions. You can have more than one Java version on your PC and activate and deactivate them as needed using the Java icon in control panel.

The server is running on 8.0.11 something. It's only a year old, but that's the issue. My infosec guys want it to be on the latest version every time a java update is released....Which is what? a couple times a month or something.. BLS says they only support the version that came with the installation media from the first install. Which is way down level. Is it only needed for Admin?? or does it actually affect the operation of the Xpressions application?
