xp_sendmail not working 1

THis was working for over a year, but for the last 2 weeks, none of the jobs I have running that use this procedure are failing with error "xp_sendmail: failed with mail error 0x80004005 [SQLSTATE 42000] (Error 18025). The step failed."

SQL Agent has been stopped and started many times.
I have verfied the mail profile setup in sql is correct, I can open Outlook on the server and send and receive emails.
I can send an email to an operator.

Why does everything else run but this one does not? I have checked everything online. Our exchange server has not been adjusted in the least.

xp_sendmail doesn't use the SQL Agent mail to send email. It uses SQL Mail. Try stopping and starting SQL Mail using the xp_stopmail and xp_startmail procedures.

Were any domain controllers rebooted or decommissioned two weeks ago?
