xp_sendmail: failed with mail error

All of my jobs are suddenly all failing. I have verified that I can send an email from SQL using the MAPI client and using the operators send emails fine, but sendmail does it diffently. Is there anything else I can check?

Executed as user: user. xp_sendmail: failed with mail error 0x80040111 [SQLSTATE 42000] (Error 18025). The step failed.

xp_sendmail uses SQL Mail to send email, the operators use SQL Agent mail.

Have you tried stopping and starting SQL Mail? (xp_stopmail and xp_startmail)

Did any of your domain controllers get rebooted just before this happens?

Do your xp_sendmail commands send to an email address or a mailbox/group alias?

Yes, sql mail has been stopped and restarted. These jobs have been running successfully for over a year. Our cluster nodes did get switched recently and that is when it stopped working.

By switched do you mean that the nodes were replaced, or the service was failed to the passive node?

Are the profile names in Outlook the same? Does the outlook profile show up correctly when you edit the SQL Mail properties?

I have verified that the profile setup in SQL is the same as the profile on the server's mail profile. I can log into Outlook and send/receive emails with this account on the server. I have stopped and restarted SQL agent.

I am still getting errors this morning:

None of our emails are being sent.

xp_sendmail doesn't have anything to do with the SQL Agent.
