I've been reading a lot of helpful threads in the forums, so I hope someone can point me in the right direction. Here's my problem:
I am trying to connect to my partners computer via VPN. Both computers are running XP. His is XP home, mine XP Pro. I've set his machine up to accecpt the incoming VPN connection and my computer initates the connection. We created an account for me on his machine that I use when I start the VPN connection. The VPN connection works fine, but I am unable to see his computer or any of its shares. I am unable to ping his VPN IP (192.168.0.10), but his computer can ping mine (192.168.0.11). The strange thing is that I had it all working fine about a week ago. He reboot his computer and since then it won't work. Before he rebooted, I had his machine set up to automatically assign IP addresses, but after the reboot, I had to give it a range of addresses to use (192.168.0.10-20) or the VPN would give me an ERROR 733. I have also set up my machine to accept his incoming VPN requests and that works fine! I can see his machine and he can see mine. When he VPNs to me, I can ping his computer with no problems.
He connects to the internet via cable modem with no router and I have tried disabling the Internet Connection Firewall to no avail. I have plain old dial-up service.
Any suggestions?
